LASD Studio Selected Project Program
Two selected projects each quarter in Southern California
Each quarter, LASD Studio selects two Southern California properties where thoughtful landscape design can create exceptional ecological, architectural, and experiential value in alignment with LASD studio Mission.
For each selected project, LASD Studio absorbs up to 50% of the standard Phase A professional fee, depending on the scale, complexity and the nature of the property.
The complete Phase A scope and professional value remain unchanged. This is not a credit to be recovered during a later phase. It is a genuine studio-funded fee reduction made possible by our optimized design systems, remote onboarding, coordinated site documentation, and integrated BIM workflow.
The program applies exclusively to Phase A: Site Analysis and Concept Exploration.
By reserving only two places each quarter, LASD Studio can invest directly in projects with strong ecological, architectural, and transformational potential.
A Professional First Step
Some of the strongest landscapes begin with the right questions - not an immediate commitment to the complete design process.
Phase A: Site Analysis & Conceptual Landscape Design provides a focused professional study of your property. It allows our studio to understand the site, identify its opportunities and constraints, explore meaningful design directions and establish whether a larger collaboration should follow.
This is not a simplified online garden package. It is the same serious first stage of LASD Studio’s landscape design process, offered to two carefully selected projects each quarter.
Why LASD Studio Offers This Program
LASD Studio dedicates a limited portion of its quarterly design capacity to properties where our work could make a particularly meaningful difference.
By limiting the initiative to two projects, the studio can absorb part of the normal professional fee while giving selected owners a more accessible way to begin with rigorous site analysis and conceptual design.
We look for properties with strong potential for ecological restoration, architectural integration, outdoor living or long-term landscape transformation that is part of LASD Studio Mission.
Our Landscape Design Process
Our work is structured in clear phases, allowing precision, coordination, and continuity from concept to construction. Here is our Landscape Design Working Process:
Phase A. Site Analysis & Conceptual Landscape Design
Value: Conceptual clarity of the design and overall construction budget
⇩
Phase B. Design Development & Technical Documentation
Value: Detailed design with specs of previously defined concept
⇩
Phase C. Permitting & Regulatory Coordination (when required)
Value: Permitting of the design when required
⇩
Phase D. Construction and/or Construction Administration
Value: Implementation and supervision of the construction
This phased approach allows the work to remain precise, adaptable, and grounded in the realities of the site as it unfolds over time.
The Selected Project Fee
For projects accepted through this quarterly initiative LASD Studio would contribute up to 50% for the Phase A designing budget.
The selected fee does not reduce the professional attention or conceptual depth of the engagement. The scope remains carefully defined so the work can be completed responsibly.
Who This Program Is For?
The program is intended for property owners who:
1) Value ecology, spatial experience, craftsmanship and enduring design;
2) Are open to continuing into Phase B when the conceptual direction is successful.
Projects may include private gardens, estates, historic properties, ecological restorations and other landscapes with exceptional design & sustainability potential.
