~ About LASD Studio In-House Software ~

Over the past several years, LASD Studio has developed a proprietary, in-house design system built on advanced BIM workflows and custom computational logic.

Unlike conventional landscape practices that rely on fragmented tools, our system integrates spatial design, planting strategy, water use calculations, material take-offs with cost evaluation, and long-term performance analysis into a single, coherent framework.

This internal platform allows us to:

  • model landscapes as complex, interconnected systems rather than isolated elements — enabling deeper understanding of site dynamics and more precise, site-specific design responses for soil regeneration, stormwater management, wildfire resilience, and wildlife and biodiversity enhancement;

  • calculate water demand, irrigation performance, and resource use with a high level of accuracy;

  • coordinate complex, multi-regional projects seamlessly across disciplines, supporting both metric and imperial systems;

  • test design decisions against ecological, technical, and economic criteria throughout the design process;

  • develop designs that align with an agreed project budget, reducing uncertainty and minimizing surprises during implementation.

The software is not a product and is not licensed externally. It is a studio tool — refined through real projects, international collaboration, and years of applied research — and serves as a foundation for LASD Studio’s commitment to accuracy, sustainability, and long-term responsibility.

Technology, for us, is not about automation for its own sake. It is a way to support better design decisions, reduce waste, and ensure that landscapes perform as intelligently as they are conceived.
