Where Art & Nature Evolve into Living Legacy

Landscape Architecture & Garden Design Studio in San Diego, Southern California & Spain

We design private estates, public landscapes and ecological restoration projects with defined architectural order and measurable ecological performance.

LASD Studio: Landscape Architecture, Sustainability & Design practice operating in San Diego, Southern California & Spain.

Each project begins with architectural analysis. We study the property’s style, its historical references and relevant Epochs of Art, then align spatial structure with the daily life of the residence and its long-term objectives.

In parallel, we assess Ecological Processes: soil composition, slope, drainage patterns, irrigation demand and fire exposure. These parameters establish measurable constraints and opportunities.

Design development integrates architectural identity with ecological sustainability to construct long-term landscape frameworks built for durability, operational efficiency and controlled growth in property value over decades.

Such comprehensive design is enabled by our unique in-house landscape architectural software system.

Architectural and engineering assemblies, ecological data sets and financial investment projections are integrated into interconnected project layers. Quantities, water demand and material allocations are calculated within the documentation framework.

This integration increases project integrity, technical accuracy, strengthens cost control and improves construction deliverability.

~ Private Gardens & Estates ~

LASD Studio designs landscape architecture & garden design for private residences and multi-acre estates.

Each project begins with architectural analysis, topography, soil structure, drainage, and exposure.

Spatial hierarchy, circulation, garden rooms, terraces, retaining structures, planting systems, and irrigation are resolved as one coordinated framework.

The objective is long-term performance, controlled maintenance, and property value stability over decades.

~ Communities & HOAs ~

We design landscape systems for residential Communities & HOA’s where long-term clarity matters.

Water demand, plant selection, fire exposure, grading, and maintenance cycles are quantified before design is finalized. Shared outdoor space is structured to reduce operational ambiguity and support consistent stewardship.

~ Public, Commercial & Cultural Landscapes ~

We design commercial and cultural landscapes that operate under real use, weather, and time.

Pedestrian movement, material durability, drainage capacity, planting performance, and maintenance access are integrated into the documentation set.

Each project is structured to function reliably under public pressure without aesthetic compromise.

Practice & Scale

We design private gardens and residential estates, communities & HOA landscapes, commercial & cultural projects, Urban design and Public spaces where architectural design quality and long-term sustainability matter.

When scope and alignment allow, our work may extend into landscape restoration and site-driven ecological projects - approached with the same level of authorship and documentation.

We accept a limited number of projects each year to ensure direct principal involvement and uncompromised execution.

Practice Reflections

I don’t know anyone in California who can design gardens like Yura L. from LASD Studio - truly gifted.
— Kimberly A., Former President of APLD, San Diego.
The brilliance of their design is unmatched. LASD Studio took my ideas and shaped them into a garden that feels like an extension of my dreams - timeless, refined, and alive.
— Jennifer C.
What impressed me most was the personal care. Yura and his team understood my vision and delivered a landscape beyond expectations, on time and within the agreed budget.

Our Landscape Design Process

We guide your project from first conversation to its complete realization, simplified project steps:

1. Initial inquiry: brief call and site understanding (click here to begin);

2. Concept design intent and presentation;

3. Design development and Construction documentation;

4. Permitting with City Building Department, HOA (when required);

5. Contractor selection, BID and Construction Administration.
